Kalm: Skin + Body Online was created by husband and wife, Daniel and Madelein Hurlin in order to increase effectiveness in helping people improve their skin, beauty and overall wellness.
From an early age, Madelein developed a love for the beauty industry which led to her studying and qualifying as a Somatologist. She quickly worked her way up from Therapist to Salon Manager to Region Manager for a large franchise in South Africa. In 2014, Madelein bought the first of her three beauty salons in Pretoria East/Centurion area. She went on to achieve the FASA award for best franchisee in South Africa for the years 2016 and 2017.
Daniel, who qualified with BCom Entrepreneurship in 2009, went on to start up numerous successful businesses within his passion of wellness, fitness, strength-training and nutrition.

In January 2019, Daniel and Madelein met for the first time and got married, 7 months later. They decided to combine their passions for helping people in wellness and beauty and created “Kalm: Skin + Body Studio”, the name of their three studios based in the Pretoria East and Centurion areas.
They soon realized that their beauty salons needed a digital platform for them to interact with their clients as well as the convenience offered by online-ordering. This led to the creation of the company “Kalm: Skin + Body Online” in the year 2023 which is directly owned and managed by the couple to this day.
